Small Mahogany Marble Top Commode c.1840.

Unusually small mid 19th.c. French marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1840. Just 38" wide. Original grey marble top with rounded corners and over a chest of four long drawers. Particularly well figured mahogany veneers arranged in a striking symmetrical pattern across the front of the chest. Shallow top drawer with a shaped front continued on the sides of the cabinet, the three deeper drawers set within a moulded surround, each with original inlaid brass escutcheons. Sides veneered to match and raised on a moulded plinth. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
